The intentions for my first mood board was to showcase the stereotypical 'glossy magazine pictures' these are the images which are expected to be seen in magazines. These images include that 'skinny pretty model' which society has become used to seeing and if they were to see a plus size model it would be disapproved. There still are plus size model's being used in magazine's but are not highly recognised as much as the 'skinny models. These images have been saturated with that beautiful model, the expensive clothe sand high quality make-up. From social networking sites there are a minority of the images which make younger girls insecure about the way they look. A collection of these image's are what showers social networking sites such as 'Tumblr' and 'Instagram.' I feel as though as a teenager of the present day, models such as Rosie Hundtington Whitely, Cara Delevingne and Kendall Jenner have a huge enforcement in the quest of being 'perfect.' These are those models who young adults call their inspiration, yet also they advocate eating disorders or even cosmetic surgery as discreetly as possible. Why has the fashion industry become like this? Why does it make young adults starve them self? These are the questions that I will tackle in my Photography and enlighten what it is actually doing to individuals.

This mood board is a collection of the approach I want to adapt in my Personal Study. These images include various people not being 'beautiful' but still trying. For example the image of the male model holding up another picture is representation of trying to someone they are. The image with the female model with make up on half of her face shows natural vs. make up which could lead to experimentation work. These images are not the typical magazine posters. These images are the idea of how insecurities are reflected in photography because of the effect of the high end glossy magazine front covers. This is the concern of women today, the idea that you have to try so hard to fit in, be skinny, pretty, golden complexion. The Victoria Secret catwalk Model's are a good example of how the insecurities of an individual can be increased. The concept behind these images is the strongest point about them; the idea of the image of the woman in a bikini however plus size is not something you would see everyday in a magazine. These image's aren't exactly focusing on what young adults do because of the 'Glossy Images' show in my previous mood board, but that they do represent some sort of underlying insecurity.
