I previously used a measuring tape to showcase insecurity. I developed the idea with using magazine words, showing it is destroying so many young adults without knowing. There are words such as 'calories, stressed, embarrassed, makeover' which is what insecurities are all about and why they seem to be so enclosed within a person, they end up half destroying them. I used the back of the model again to show the anonymity and how the words represent her personality and convey feelings. The idea of using a black background because of the mysterious feeling it gives and makes the subject matter stand out boldly. The background can also convey isolation of the model; how there's not light around her.
