Development: Half and Half

My intention here was to simply show the clear contrast between normal and fake. The idea of having no make up on one side and some on the other, showing the distinctiveness. This is the idea of how insecurities need resolving so young adults use make up, perhaps to hide spots, beauty marks, blemishes just to make sure its not noticeable. Also the idea that all celebrities are seen a majority of the time with make up on it's slightly enforced upon viewers; you look better with make up on. Magazines don't include the ordinary girl next door photo shoots, its the big and bold and highly done up girls they need. The idea of the background being blue adds to the image of being playful and contrasts from my previous development shoots of being intense and tranquil.

These two images show the clear contrast in what is seen with make up and without it. The idea of having the highlights, heavy bold eyes, lipstick making young adults think it 'improves them.' Whereas the picture on the right is seen as 'not normal' to wear no make up because 'the magazine says not to.' However, there are minority of celebrities that have been captured with a 'fresh face' but still viewers will question 'how they can achieve such a good look without make up?'
