From my experimentation with 'Insecurity will ruin you' I developed the idea of showing an insecurity through a measuring tape. The number on the scale and a measuring tape is either reassurance or provocation of young adults today. I have photographed the images in black and white so viewers are distracted by the colours or background or even blemishes. With the use of the lighting I highlighted the measuring tape so it became the focus, even those a wide depth of field has been used in a majority of the images. I have adjusted the contrast of the images to avoid dark patches of grey and kept the colours light but mysterious with the use of a black background.
This image is abstract as the composition of the image is unknown, in the sense that the picture could be rotated in any direction but still look normal. The idea that is seems almost unknown where the measuring tape has been placed portrays the idea of how young adults dealing with insecurities like this are almost fed up and think any part of their body isn't good enough. That is the message I tried to convey though this image and by leaving the black space makes the object of the image disappear into it.
